Cayuga or Runner?

I cant fiqure out what my little black duck is at first i thought he was a runner but the he started to get the same shade as a Cayuga. Here is a pic of him

(the last pics i have of him cant find the cord to my camrea so i cant get any good pics sorry) Any have an idea if he is a runner or a cayuga?

Runners come in black, and your duck looks like a black runner. The black ones are beautiful, and sometimes even lay a charcoal grey egg, becoming lighter as the laying season progresses.

thats what every1 has been telling me but do the black one have a "mellow" green tint to them?

If you look at her head The bill and head aren't in a long line. It drops down into the bill so I'm thinking a Cayuga.

I'm thinking Cayuga because of the bill shape and green tint you said it has.

Hmm he walks like a runner though could it be a cayuga x runner?

Possibly a poor quality (but lovely nonetheless

) black runner... If he walks and stands quite upright like the others then I'd go with runner. In terms of colours, with that fluff I'd say you're definitely gonna get a dark-coloured duck, probably black. The iridescent green sheen comes later in the adult set of feathers (or at least it did for mine!), so you have a couple of moults to go through before you see that.

Cayugas should have black feet and bills and have the green shine to it.

My black runner has a greenish sheen on his wings. If you think the posture looks like a runner then it probably is.
