Oh, believe me, I know. I have 4 Swedish, each louder than the next. One is always cranky and half broody quacking at everything and nothing. Last night another one managed to wander up the ramp into the chicken coop at roosting time and couldn’t figure out how to get out and was quacking for help until I went to lock them up at night and realized I was missing a duck. Restricting pool access after dark helps cut down on noise some.

If you do end up with all drakes, no need to worry! I have two drakes only, and they are great together! They may get in some squabbles when the hormones set in, but it’s pretty easy to manage (at least in my case). They are adorable ducks!

I really hope so! I was looking forward to the eggs and a family member wants me to hatch a batch for her. With the coop we built we could add another 2-3 and get some sexed females however I dont want them to be over breed and worry about needing to separate giving I only have a town lot until we can buy a new house. I also would be heartbroken to get rid of one unless it turns out to be less than friendly to us or aggressive towards the others

LoL.. I agree, females can be very loud. All except our Muscovy. She is quiet compared to the Welsh Harloquins. If that is louder than the male Muscovy, they are silent. LoL
