Here are my beauties..now 8 weeks.

No got them at a week old. The cayugas are girls and the apple yards are still unknown. Hoping one is a boy so we can hatch come spring.

I'm just curious, what made you lean towards Cayuga? I only ask because I'm pondering the same two breeds. What I actually wanted were some Silver Appleyards but they're hard to find so I keep going back and forth between WH and Cayugas. According to Mezger Farms the WH are the calmest Ducks they have but I've never known anybody who had them so who knows. Good luck with your decision!

Well as you can see by the picture I posted above I have both Cayuga and Silver Appleyards . I love both breed so far. These are my first ducks so I can not campare them to any other breeds, but I would go this same route again. Cayugas are recommend for people who live in town as they are a breed that tends to be more quiet (this holds true for only one of my cayugas lol..other one is the talker of the group ). My AY are very quiet..but they might both be boys so maybe that is the reason.
