She might appreciate the break not being the only girl on his mind! Also if something ever happened to one of them, the other wouldn't be left all alone. I would get another girl or two. But then again I'm always thinking of excused why I should need more animals around!

I agree, a second drake is a bad idea. But all in all, I have a male and female Cayuga and I adore them both. They're my tamest ducks. My male is much louder and more lively than I imagined them being, but he's great. He likes to come and nibble at my shoes and beg for treats.

So I broke down & got her today! & Now I'm having second thoughts! I need to make up my mind if I'm going to keep her or not before I fall completely in love. How does this work? How long before she can stay with Floss & Felix? & All that? Idk...I want her, but... Like I said before I don't want my other 2 to feel any kind of way.

No idea! I'm thinking either Pekin or Runner? She's kinda standing tall. & So much for the whole "before I fall in love" thing! I'm in love! Already! But I do need advice on how to merge the crew & when??

I've never integrated ducklings with adult ducks before, so I can't really give you advice on that. But I think that having some kind of barrier in place so they can see each other but not get to each other is recommended.

Looks like my fawn and white runner ducks
and you wont be able to introduce to the others till she is about their size.
Is she an only duckling? Its best to raise at least two together. It will be much harder to introduce to other ducks later if she hasnt been raised with any.....

Don't tell me that! She is the only duckling. She was a 3rd wheel at the TSC so I had to get her! My other female was alone for about a year before I got my Drake... & That went smoothly, so maybe this go around will too... I'm excited to see if she is a Runner, that was my first thought when I saw her standing up!

Well thats good did you raise your female alone from a duckling?
They need a ton of attention, and can become really stressed when left alone.
Its not impossible, but its defiantly not an ideal situation
