I love the emerald greens sheen on both ducks but I can't decide which breed to get. I would like to have 3. Who's the better layer? Who is quieter? Who is more easily tamed? Who is easier to keep? Any other input is welcome!

They're are alot to consider. If your looking for a purpose duck I'd go with Cayuga. But if you want more for a ornamental purpose then Indies will be a better choice.

If your looking for meat the indies aren't really a option they are VERY small. I don't know about meat because I've always been a vegetarian. However they were originally bred as a meat duck.

Yes, Cayugas are better for Meat and Eggs.

I see you live in Illinois! I'll be hatching quite a bit of my call duck eggs next year! Contact me next year around March-ish and I should have some started ducklings for sale!

I have a Black Bibbed Female and a Blue and Silver Males. I need to figure out which male I want to keep for next year.

ETA: If you want to see any pictures of my stock don't hesitate to ask!
