~The Dove Family~
The mother was sitting in the nest yesterday morning (Mach 9th), as usual. I saw one of the squabs on the side of the nest, very unusual and thought to myself " I hope that's not a dead one".
I go out quickly to see, nope. Gone. Dead. So now she is down to one squab who seems to be doing well so far. The squab that hatched first seemed unwell from the beginning. Seems like he didn't absorb the yolk correctly. I would have tried to save him if it clicked to me that he didn't look well.
He also seemed to have splayed leg.
Anyway, here is the lone baby, it was snuggling under my hand. Today was a "cold" day
