:cd My Girl has a large Bloody hole into her back side(graffic photo)

Ohhh jaku. I thought you meant someone named Jake PM'd you and you were responding here.

He was just giving you advice in a rather abrupt way, but I don't think he meant to be sarcastic or taunting with the advice. I think he was just genuinely shocked as we all are because something really got after her.

It's advice that many use if they're of the "weak link removed, stronger flock" school. There are many benefits to that school, though it's not for everyone.

I don't have to, I know what the cones are, they are for butchering. My point was that he is not sending those links to you. He sells those cones, he was not suggesting you buy one from him just because they are in his sig line.

I know he suggested the possibility of culling, sometimes it is the most humane option (not saying this is the case in this instance, I like to watch and see how they do before making the decision). It is a hard thing to do, but sometimes it is necessary.

I have no problem with the ad, Just thought it was tacky to include it. And as far as culling, I also have no problem with that as my grandmother in the old country (Germany) had to do it (the hen had a split beak and was eating the eggs)when I was 15 (now 52)and boy could that body run, I knew then where the saying running around like a chicken with its head cut off came from, I had to find it for dinner.

Oh, ok lol ... I thought maybe you were being a bit overly sensitive to the idea of culling.

About the sig line, when you set one up, it is included in all your posts. He would have to delete it permanently from his profile to exclude it. And if he added it again after posting, it would show up again, even in previous posts.

Is your hen still doing ok? That looks like it would really hurt. It is amazing what they can put up with sometimes. I have seen them recover from some pretty horrific, seemingly mortal wounds. I had one that was pecked so badly her skull was showing and her eyes were swollen shut. When I found her, I thought she was dead ... until she barely moved her foot when I loosened her from the mud. A good bath and blow dry, LOTS of TLC (hand feeding and watering because she could not see and could not bend her neck very well for awhile, watered down gatorade, and antibiotic ointment and penicillin), separation, and time put her right again. Took about two months for it to fully heal, but she pulled through. They truly are amazingly resilliant creatures! Hopefully your girl will show the same resilliance and make a full and fast recovery!

ETA: She only has 1/4 of a comb (the rest was litterally ripped off) and she HATES me now ... oh wait ... she always did

You would think that all the special attention would have calmed her down. As soon as she could see again she had to go outside into her own little pen because she would panic and try to escape everytime I opened the pet carrier to try to feed her.
