My chicken has a swollen infected toe

I think it's okay to soak small wounds. Large open wounds might not be a good idea to soak, although all wounds need daily cleansing to keep bacteria from forming. Epsom salts soaking encourages blood flow to the wound, thus encouraging new tissue growth. It's very good for foot wounds.

Peroxide is okay to clean a wound the first time, but it inhibits new tissue formation, so soap and water or saline is best after that.

Yes, we do need to see a photo. We need to know if this is a wound from a torn toenail or if the toe was lacerated by something, or if this is frost bite. It would help to know your location so we know if it's fall or spring where you are.
Thank you for your information!

How often each day should I clean the toe, disinfect, medicate, and rewrap? I've also given her about 200 MG of amoxicellin once a day for about 4 days. She is about 3 lbs. I know it's 57mg for each pound. How long do I need to give her the antibiotic?

I would clean twice a day! Give antibiotics until the swelling goes down.

Amoxicillin is 100mg two times a day for ten days. You can give 200mg once a day and still be okay.

At least once a day to clean the wound. Twice is good if you have the time.

My chicken's toe has finally fell off. It is not bleeding and doesn't look infected, and no swelling. Do I need to continue to wrap it and use vetercyin and antibiotic ointment on it and for how long?

I clipped a little tiny scab that was hanging and made it bleed a little so I bandaged it because now it's opened. I'll do that for a few days.

That is healing beautifully! No need to keep wrapping it. But do give it a squirt of Vetericyn once or twice a day until it's completely healed over.

Good job!
