Cecal Poop or Worms?

Hi! This is actually my first post, not sure if it's in the right place. I gave my chickens Safeguard paste this morning. Should I do a second dose in 7-10 days or does this need to be given every day for 5 days? Little confused on the schedule. I really wanted to do something in the water but my local stores don't have it.
Do you know which type of worm your birds have or are you guessing?

Dont you just love the shotgun approach with safeguard, valbazen, pyrantel pamoate and levamisol? I do, saves on the vet bill and no guesswork about what worms you're dealing with. Of course tapeworms have their own special treatment, even then, valbazen will take care of them with higher doses and feed withholding periods.

The safeguard paste will take care of them. I prefer the liquid goat wormer though, it's more easily absorbed into the bloodstream.
Thank you. Do you put the liquid goat wormer in their water? That's the route I was hoping to go next time around. I have 2 turkeys also and I have to wrestle them to the ground to put this stuff in their mouth! It's probably pretty funny to watch though.

You dont want to put the liquid goat wormer in the water, it's not soluble and settles to the bottom.
It's best to give it orally to each bird, that way you know they got wormed properly and effectively.
Another problem with putting wormers in water is that you dont know if a bird drank enough of the liquid to be effective or even drank it at all. Also, sick wormy birds wont drink.
There's no guesswork in giving it orally.
Good luck with the turkey's, I've never owned them. Maybe someone can help hold them for you. Same for chickens too. Someone holds the chicken for you, then you use a preloaded syringe (without needle) and pull the hens wattles down and her mouth will open. This is very important: Only shoot 1/2ml liquid wormer in her mouth at a time and immediately let go of her wattles so she can swallow the liquid on her own. If you dont immediately let go of the wattles, the liquid can go down her windpipe, then there would be big problems.
