I built my small 3ft/4ft copp out of ceder. And I just read that ceder can make chickens sick, is this true? I use pine shavings as the inside bedding.
Any thoughts on this would be great. Thanks

Cedar shavings and cedar lumber are two different things. Unless it reeks like a cedar closet in there when you stick your head in, I wouldn't worry at all.

    Have fun,

Thanks a lot for your advice. [IMG] I had just put all this hard work into this new coop and then came across the info about cedar. I am so glad I don't have to start over.

I think as long as there is plenty of ventilation, cedar is fine. I actually use cedar shavings on occasion in my henhouse. The key is plenty of ventilation.

Your coop will be fine, and should last a good long time. Enjoy your chickens.
