Hi, I've taken pre-emptive advice about condensation while building my coop and have insulated the metal roof with fibreglass batts and then covered/ lined these with timber palings (see below).
What I'm unsure of is whether to paint the timber or to keep moisture (from chook respiration) and out of the timber and possibly have a dripping problem again or to leave it raw to absorb any breathing moisture? I have plenty of ventilation around the ceiling. I have painted the rest of the timber in the coop for ease of cleaning, but am unsure of which way to go with the ceiling. Any thoughts appreciated! I have learnt so much for my coop construction from these pages so a belated thanks.
