I have a friend that is in Seoul Korea right now. Can I call his cell phone and get through? Do I need to use codes of any kind?? Or can this even be done at all?

does your friend have a Korean telephone number or are you calling a US phone number that is currently with the owner in Korea?

IF he has a Korean telephone number you will need the country code....

IF you are calling his USA telephone number and he has the phone on in Korea... you dont need a special code

He has an American cell phone. I just need to talk to him asap and don't know where he is staying either. I will try to call when it gets 5 am there. Otherwise, I guess I will have to wait until he comes home.

also try e-mail you would be surprised the amount of people that check their e-mail daily while on vacation

It'll only work if his cell is set up to take international calls.

If it is an AT&T phone or other type of simcard phone then it is a world phone standard but may cost extra for him. Verizon in a different system an may or may not work where he is. Ether way you just call or text his normal number.

As long as your friend has international service on his cell phone, no problem. My DH travels out of the country for work, and I call him all the time. You guys can also use skype, which is what we also use.
