Thanks for the photos!

What a day! I have come to the conclusion that two hundred miles one way is the limit for us going to a day trip poultry show. She didn't get to show since we were expecting her to be at the dance event that canceled at the last minute, but it was good, she learned a lot, we saw a lot of nice birds and we cheered on one of our 4-H club members who took several blues and 4th in showmanship for her age group which she was thrilled with. By the time the day was said and done with though we'd driven five hundred miles and I'm beat.

It was good to see everyone. We're looking forward to the next one!

Congratulations 3chickens It looks like you took 4 out of 5 firsts. AM I seeing that right. That is great for a first time especially silkies as they are usually one of the largest classes. Do you know how many birds were there total Was it worth the trip Micki

I believe it was our own Chicksandpeeps who took Reserve Champion of the Open show with her White Silkie!!!!!

Grand Champion of the show was a Belgian Quail D'Anvers Hen - veeeery nice bird. Cutest little puffy cheeks!!!

The judge was wonderful, answering questions for novices.

I had my 2 Sumatras, my hen took BoB and my RIR Bantam Hen took RB (class of 18)

Oh Boy! What a GREAT show! It was a beautiful day! (Except a little too much wind!) My lovely white silkie hen "Lillie" was at her best! Thanks for all the nice comments about her! I am soooooo excited! I haven't taken pics of her yet with her ribbons, hopefully tomorrow. I was too exhausted yesterday by the time we got home, and I'm sure she and the other chickies were too, and we were in Tampa today. Lillie placed : 1st in her class, Best of Breed, Best of Variety, Champion Featherleg, Open Reserve Champion Bantam.

Here is a pic of her right after the judging.

The show was well attended and went real smoothly. Central Florida Poultry Association did a GREAT job! We hope they will have another show there in Arcada next year!
