Ferngully--My turkey died today! I dont know what happened to her but she got really droopy & then she was gone & my friend said she is having the same problem w/her turkey(not bought at the swap)w/the yellow stuff so I am not sure what is going on w/them...My other turkeys are fine she was the only one acting like she was sick then she just killed over---I know my friend will absolutly die if hers dies on her. That turkey she has expects to be carried around all over the place & she is full grown! How is yours doing?
 
My mutt hens are from last spring, I hatched them. There is one hen that is from the year before but she is a great broody she hatched 13 of her own last spring. My runners that are pure are different colors, black,buff,choc and some are penciled. Do you think I might be able to sell the mixed ducks also? The roen/runners are beautiful with the dark green heads standing up so tall. Maybe Kelly will be able to tell me more.

Bitty I didn't get a turkey, but boy I fell in love with the one you did get. It honestly made me think of getting one if they were as sweet as that one seemed to be, or seeing if you would have parted with that one for the kids. I am so sorry she/he passed on. Like I said so sweet and just followed you everywhere you went. I know it will be missed. The silkies I got, one is changing to more of a black and the other I think is what would be partridge (black and gold) can't wait to see the final colors. So I think now I need a buff a blue and a splash.....are there any other colors I missed? 4 silkies and not a single one is mine, kids laid claim to all of them darn it.

I may be bringing the OEGB to the swap, he/she is starting to not be nice to the silkies, sweet as can be to us, but can't have the silkies messed with. It is still in the brooder with the 2 smallest silkies, I just don't think it is what I want in the bantam coop. Besides it would free up space for another silkie, lol. I refer to it as it because honestly I don't know about oegbs and how to tell the sexes and my research is getting me no where. I would like for it to go to a more experienced home. Right now it is black with with what looks like white feathers coming in on it in areas.
 
OK lots of talk about ducks at the swap, and Leslie is bringing her chickens, any body else bringing LF chickens?

I had posted some of what I was looking for.

Also I will be getting a bator, just in case I need to hatch some eggs to get some of the breeds I want (lol that's what I told DH)

I have no clue what I am going to do with all the babies afterwards. Would we still have swaps in coming months?

Leslie how much would you be asking for the hens? I need to start getting some eggs in this house soon. I am limited on space too for my LF, DH says 10-12 max. hens. I have one BC roo, and possibly a silkie/ee roo so...Thats it for roos. Wasn't suppose to have any for atleast another 2 years, oh well, I love em. The BC is really proving to be an awesome flock watcher.
 
I don't ever ask alot for the mutts, the ones I have will be excellent layers. I will only ask about 5 or 6 dollars if thats ok ??? Ducks about 7 or 8 maybe less. I really don't want to carry any home. I also have a few mutt roos that will be hardly nothing.

Glad to see everyone is gearing up for the swap! I really don't know what to tell you as far as the ducks are concerned...I don't know any more than what everyone writes on here!

Is anyone interested in Bourbon Red jakes (boys) that are about 5 months old. A friend of mine has a few and asked me to see if there's any interest. She said $30 each, but may be negotiable.

By the way, I have 4 new baby black and blue Copper Marans that hatched today. So cute!

4. New Hamshire reds

I have some smooth sizzles not sure if you would be interested in them....

Who on here wanted white sizzles....I have 2 that are frizzing out nicely and then I Have lots of white smooth sizzles and a couple of black smoothes and a black sizzle and a couple black silkie sizzles ( feathering like a silkie and frizzle really cool)....

Let me know and I will hold for them....
