Central Hatchery ???????????????

I've often said that as beekeepers we know things that perhaps the bees do not. I once put out the beekeeping for dummies book in the apiary but they didn't bother reading it. As for natural beekeeping, that's not a bad approach. The studies don't bear it out as working any better than the chemical warfare path but this is your journey, not mine. As for the hives, you can do everything right and lose a colony, and do everything wrong and have one survive. Be a beekeeper. Let the bees be bees, and everything will work out in the end. I've just grown tired of fighting the mites, and so it's time to move on. I can't give up my smoker and hive tool, but everything else will go. Such is life.

Central is the best for the Cornish X's. I have been group buying from them for years with great results and someone else turned me onto them that had used them for a long time before. I've got 48 growing out back right now. This year a friend wanted to throw in a 100 Sil-go links that did excellent also. Your first order you have to pre-pay with a check but after that they will just send you a bill for later orders. They are great to work with and have the healthiest birds that I have seen shipped. I think anyone using them would be quite pleased. They only offer a few varieties and sell out pretty quickly on hatch dates though.

This thread sure looks like it was severely hijacked and got way off track!

I bought 100 Cornish X last year and they were very nice... actually better chicks than I bought from a more "fancy" hatchery... I plan on buying some more from them.
