We have some ceral that nobody here want eat.Is it ok to feed it to the chickens?Rice krispies-crispix-multigrain cheerios-cheerios-banana nut crunch-honey bunches of oaks.THanks for your reply.I seen on here how some feed there scaps. So i thought i would ask.they have all the other good healthy food in there feeder. Thought maybe they would like this

Well, as long as it does not have alot of sugar in it, and it is not starchy, salty, it is a good food for them to try.

They will love it,,,just feed it out to them as their treat everyday. I do not waste anything anymore because my chickens get it all.
I can't open my back door because they think I am going to throw treats off the deck.

My chickens LOVE Rice Krispies! I buy the big institutional size bags at Wal Mart (don't know right off what brand) & give them a little handful every day!

Cooked rice in small quantities is ok. It is mostly the uncooked rice and especially the instant rice like Minute Rice, because it can expand. Too much of the super starchy rice can get impacted in their craw, if they don't have other food and grit to break it up. Cereal rice is fine!

ATTENTION Shelly and Lost.

It is absolutely not true that rice will expand and hurt your chickens or any other bird for that matter. Rice, like any other food that ANY BIRD EATS is ground up in thier crop and digested perfectly safely like any other food they eat.
It is a buch of male bovine manure that throwing rice at weddings will hurt the birds that eat it. It aint nothin but a false tree huggers wives tale.

See fer yerself.
