Chainsaws

Gary,

Where do I spray the ether into the splitter? I'd love to try this but am not sure 'where' to put it!

Just give the Air Cleaner a blast. It should suck enough fumes through carburetor to start. If that doesn't work take the air cleaner off and squirt some directly into the intake on the carburetor. Leave the choke open until it starts so the ether can get through the carb to the cylinder.

One problem with ether, its great for the occasional hard start, but be carefull you engine may get to where its needed everytime, also ether will clean the cylinder walls, reducing lube making engine run hot, thus shortening the engines life.

Thanks Marlin, Since I pretty much run the splitter only in the fall it would be a once a year issue. It runs fine for the duration/days of splitting afterwards. Yes, I use treated gas and take very good care of it.

I do hate that the pull cord is so long on it.
