I picked up 2 turkey poults from the feed store on April 29th. It was the first day they were shipped in from ideal. Day two my royal palm started goign down hill. I started both of them on duramyin and it seemed to help a bit. The brown turkey is now doing wonderful and thriving. What worries me about the white turkey is that his wings are always a bit lower, the main feathers always seem to be stickin out, not as stable on his legs, does not walk all over like the other one does, and always wants to close its eyes as if its tired. Is he defective lol? DO i need to do a diff antibiotic reg.? Any help would be awesome!!

Any wheezing if you listen to it's lungs? If so Tylan or LA200. How is his poo? Coccidia can cause them to do down if they had been housed with baby chicks at the feed store. I don't remember how acceptable Turkeys are to it. Hummm..... are you using any vitamins?

I dont believe its coccida, only for that fact that I havent seen any bloody stool and the other turkey is A OK lol

Very lively, tries jumping out of the brooder lol. I dont hear wheazing, used to crackle a little bit, but seems quite a bit better since the duramycin. At the time I picked them up it was only turkeys in the bucket, but who knows how well they clean inbetween the turkeys and chicks. The only vitamins i have on hand are vita pro B that I ordered a while ago from first state vet supply.

Bloody poo is only seen in the last stages, but perhaps if it felt ill it just needs a boost of some energy rich food. Scrambled eggs etc.. might help perk it up. If it is still mopey, fluffed up and eyes shut... then something is still wrong. Baby turkeys should be peeping and investigating stuff and lively.

Have taken both of them out in the grass the last 2 evenings, he looks around eats, but takes breaks to sit down and rest, and seems wobbly on the legs, like there may be something wrong with the legs...weak, unstable, its really hard to describe. Otherwise doing so well, lol its so contradicting
