So I got 42 Holland eggs from a breeder. They went into the incubator and 20 healthy chicks hatched around the expected day (about average hatch rate for me, I'm testing a different incubator next year).

Anyways, I was letting the incubator "run out" before I removed the eggs, giving a couple more chicks a chance to hatch. I wasn't expecting anything to happen, but 2-3 days later there was a tiny chick in there :th

She (until proven otherwise) is now about three weeks old and the healthy chicks are about a third bigger than her, if not more. For a while I was keeping her separate but now she is in with the others.

Her wings are a bit strange, not laying against her sides and scraggly feathers, and I can't explain exactly why but her belly feels different from the others to me. Maybe it's a bit softer? I don't know.

I was just reading a book and it mentioned Asexual Reproduction in chicken eggs. It said it is rare but might happen sometimes in the first egg of the clutch or for a few other reasons. Even more rarely, the chick hatches, but it hatches 2 or so days late!

Was this chick Asexually produced? Or is she just a strange but tough chick?

No pics at the moment but I can probably take some soon.
