I was out back a little while ago deciding where to fence in a small area to let the chickens run, probably a 20 x 20 area and I had decided to leave the top open because they will be inside at night when a hawk swoops down and snatches up a dove not 30 feet in front of me, I guess I'll be revising my plans.

SE Kansas laid plans and all that ... we had the same idea .. let the chickens have the old dog pen ... next thing we know, one of the cats is sneaking along the top of the fence to get into the pen. [IMG]

LOL... That's an eye opener for sure. We've got the odd red tail that comes by as well as turkey vultures that are overhead ALL day long here... Love watching them. The vultures aren't the problem though, it's just that odd hawk that comes around from time to time.

I remember we were sitting at the table under the pecan tree talking, I was relaxing, kicked back, staring up at the tree and this beautiful red tail landed in a limb right where I was watching, looked at me and gave a little squawk and then flew off again.
