I believe she is on day 9, I'm going to candle after work. She's a great broody, so I don't worry about her to much.

How many eggs did you give her?
It''s so much easier with a good broody, my Roady and Betty are still going with theirs. It's going to be weird not having a broody when they finally break. I've had broodys since Spring.

I gave her 5 eggs. I ended up getting them from my boss cuz the gal I was going to get them from couldn't come through. So his roo is a Dominique and he has some legbar mix OE's, a golden cuckoo marans, partridge cochin, and a couple orps, so the chicks should be pretty cute and interesting. Agreed, it is hands down the easiest way to raise chicks! I've had broodies raising littles all Spring/summer too, mostly Onyx She didn't wean the BCM chicks till they were like 9 weeks. I'll enjoy seeing her with chicks again, but will be relieved when everyone is just chickening, lol

Well, only 1 egg is developing, the rest were clear. I think I'm going to order some wheaten Marans from Meyers for her

Order is placed, 2 Wheaten Marans pullets, 1 cockerel, and the free meal maker. she accepts them, they'll arrive about 5 days before the hatch day. Now I'm stressed

I was cooking down a chicken carcass for stock and got all the little bits of meat off of it and went to give them to the chickens, they loved it! I also gave Onyx her fair share and she was surprisingly quite appreciative of it

Picked up the littles this morning, ornery as all get out, lol! I'll be giving them to her tonight. The freebie chick is white with a couple black dots, thinking maybe an austra white

Coop lights came on so I went to check on Onyx and the littles, all seems well, she's clucking to them and they are all over and under her. I'll grab pics after work
