Change of plans

And this little gal is so pretty, she has cheeks, but no beard, and blue feathering. I'm definitely keeping her! That little cockerel is cute too, real neat coloring.

Things have been so much calmer since Langdon left! Going to go get the grow out coop set up today so I can get these babies out of the house. So far 9/12 have hatched, 1 is making its way, but I don't think the other 2 Marans eggs are going to hatch.

@NatJ I need your expertise please. These chicks are Ayam cemani x Isabel Ameraucana BC, the cockerel is the mix crossed back to the izzy's. Why is the one chick yellow, with yellow skin, and black dot on its head?

All the blue wheaten OE's hatched yellow as expected, and so did the 2 OE BC1's which was quite interesting. Can't wait to see them feather out! Grow out coop is set up and ready to go, gotta grab some shavings tomorrow after work and those littles are headed outside! Next group is set to hatch in 9 days.

Wow! A lot going on! What are your future plans with Langdon no longer your main rooster?
See what I get from the marans eggs that have been set and these blue wheaten OE's that just hatched. I'll also be keeping a dominant white ameraucana cockerel "if" I hatch one. I've got a couple more ladies to sell (pretty sure they're spoken for", then I'll go from there. I do have more wheaten/ blue wheaten, and splash marans eggs that I'll be hatching. I also have these little cemani mix chicks, I've got some big plans for them regardless of gender 😉

At first glance, I don't really know.

There's a chance that some other parent got involved (something like a White Leghorn could easily produce a chick like that from a mixed hen.)

From that parentage, I would expect some black chicks and some that look Isabel. Hmm, probably also some Lavender chicks (lavender dilution, but on the all-black feather pattern of the Ayam Cemani rather than whatever pattern the Isabels have.) And some with the pattern of the Isabels, but without the lavender dilution, so they might be gold or silver with some amount of black. Maybe that's what this chick is trying to do, silver with a bit of black? I don't think that accounts for the foot color, since I would expect blue or black (or maybe a chance of green) from any possible combination of Ameraucana and Ayam Cemani genes. I would not expect plain white or yellow feet.

 I don't really know, but I'll be curious to see how it looks as it feathers out!
