changed nest box straw?

so i cleaned out my coop and changed from straw to pine shavings since its all i had. since then i have gotten one egg. i have 2 hens that are laying, a RIR that lays once every 3-4 days and a black start that lays about 5 times a week. could this trigger them not to lay? i know one or two of my hens may be molting but i suspect they are the 6 month olf black australorps since the feathers are under where they roost. should i put straw back in? also i had ran our of layer crumbles for 3 days and they got scratch, with some layer pellets mixed in. now are back on layer crumbles.
