Changes noted in chicken stool.

By fresh grass I mean grass that the chickens have not been on for some month at least.

When I started chicken keeping some 20+ years ago I made the same mistake.
Thank you. That’s why I come here. I know that there are lots of militant and experinced folks like you I can count on. No more hosing the poop. 10:4.

That looks possibly like a mass of tapeworms, but I want to tag @dawg53 for his opinion. If it is tapeworms, a wormer with praziquantel is needed. Equimax horse wormer is sold in feed stores, and that has praziquantel. Dosage for tapeworms is 0.03 ml per pound of weight or 0.15 ml for a 5 pound hen. Have you seen any tapeworm segments in the poop of that chicken? Here is what Equimax looks like:

Also what’s the egg withdrawal period after treatment?

Generally 14 days after the last treatment.
Very nice! Thanks Dawg!!! I’ll mark my calendar!! I successfully gave her the drug…. They did not have EQUIMAX SO I GOT THE OTHER ONE… ZIMECTERIN GOLD…..this page recommended it! I used the instructions… I’ll make my calendar to say wait 14 days to eat eggs.
