Changing chicken laws... where to start?

Hi all - I'm new here! My children incubated and hatched eggs at their school this spring and now five of them live with us! We are first-time chicken owners and having a great time. Lately we've talked of moving to another nearby suburb - but they don't allow chickens. I already have a message into the village there - but thought I'd check here, too. How does one go about trying to change the law on backyard chickens? Thanks in advance for any advice. Cheers!

Oh, I hope you can get your laws changed and can keep your chickens. Lots of members that can't keep them legally, keep them as house chickens! Here is a thread on keeping chickens in the house and how they all do it....
