Changing colors???

DixieBeast, I only have the one girl. No roo. I'm not allowed where I live, plus, I just randomly picked 2 chicks out of a mixed breed box! Plus, she's not laying yet, even if I had a roo.

Sorry I can't help! I am still really new at this chicken thing, lol, and when I picked out my first two girls in June, I just picked who I thought was pretty and would be a girl.

Cackle Hatchery has some, but they're sold out right now. I've never ordered from them (never ordered chickens....yet). Perhaps they can help you though, or you or your trader friend can order some when they get more in stock? They have a minimum of 25 for a few months, then 15 the rest of the year.

Sorry hun, good luck finding some more!!

My gal!! And I am less than 5 ft and have small kid size hands!! She is 6 inches tall by a ruler when she is at her most puffed up and my Roo is 12 at top of tail!!

I gotta move to the country and quit renting first! Hopefully your babies will start laying soon so you can have more.

That's another reason I want to move - I've got 6 now and still want some silkies, maybe a polish, a seabright...... lol. DH might kill me when I get a place with a yard... Anyways, good luck finding more, sorry I couldn't help!

The only little meager bit of knowledge I have about color change is when it comes to the speckled sussex. They get whiter with each molt. I have one that just molted and she's prettier now than she was a year ago. I love it! Ah, the mysteries of chickens
