changing coop location!

Hey all! So I have decided to move my coop to the other side of the yard. My hens have been in the coop and in that area for over a year. I am moving their coop before winter because I believe it will be more shady and cooler in the summer as well as more protected from snow in the winter.

My question is, has anyone ever moved their coop? I am nervous that my hens will get confused or stressed. Is there any tips on moving coop locations and to help the chickens??

People move their chicken tractors all the time...

You might notice they get slightly stresses since it's new to them and egg production might slow temporarily but they should return to normal soon enough...

If they watch you make the move, they will be curious and check it out when you have completed the move. They should not be stressed enough to stop laying if they have been present for all the action. If they do stop laying, as has been mentioned, it won't be for long.
