Changing Feed to have more Protein

Just use applecider vinegar! I had a coxccidosis outbreak and lost 5 chicks before I had any idea what was going on.
I added 1.5 tbs ACV to each gallon of drinking water every other day. I also used black walnut hull extract in their waterers every day that they didn't get the ACV.
All my chickens are alert and thriving now.

(I put 1 tbs/gallon of ACV in their waterers on each Friday's waterer fill-up to keep them worm/paracites free.)
I fed my chicks DuMOR starter/grower& then added soybean meal to boost its protein levels.
My 7 chicks get 1.5 cup of cracked corn every day. My oldest pullet has been on layer from 12 weeks until her first egg yesterday.
My 7 layers (& 1 Serama roo) eat Faithway 'Super' Layer (22% protein) free choice, 4 cups Nutrena Country Feeds layer(for some animal protein), 3 cups crk corn, and a small handful of BOSS each day.
I supply each food separately in the coop. (Except the crk corn & BOSS which I scatter for them each morning.)

I definitely plan to continue using the ACV forever. I have a gallon of the stuff by the hose outside where I clean and fill their waterers :) Thanks!!

Are you sure it was Coccidiosis and not Necrotic Enteritis which can have the same symptoms as Cocci. I don't think ACV will do much to Cocci.

Don't use the ACV when you are using a wormer. They have a bad chemical reaction with each other.

I have been using Nutrena as chick feed too and my guys are huge for their age! They have also been getting worms, slugs and garden bits sice around 8 weeks old as well as occasionally csome oats, carrot shreds and dried fruit.

Don't forget, genetics play a part in growth as well. I have 3 production reds that look like the Goldie Locks' 3 bears large, medium and small. I also have 18 cornish x that vary i size from 1.25lbs to 2.25lbs and eat the same and get the same everything.

If you go back and read the posts, all the birds came from the same place at the same time, even the same breeds. They split an order.

Thanks everyone for your comments and advice! I gained a lot of insight her and in my own state's thread. I decided one last time to go ahead and switch to medicated starter/grower feed to make sure it's not a small load of cocci causing the retarded growth. I wormed the girls mildly with Eprinex (at only 1/10cc each since they're still only 3mo pullets) and I'm providing ACV in their water. All garden and kitchen scraps have been stopped and they are getting tiny handfuls of mealworms, tiny handfuls of scratch, and whatever free-range stuff they want to eat. I'm also letting them out in the early afternoon now instead of first thing in the morning to ensure they're getting enough of their nutritious feed to eat, before going out and filling up on grass and weeds. For the next few weeks I'm going to keep everything as consistent as possible and keep an eye on them to see if they are gaining and healthy, normal poops, etc.
