Changing feed

How often do you change out the feed for the chicks? When I fill up that quart mason jar feeder it weighs in at 1 1/4 lbs. And they only eat probably a quarter to maybe a half of a pound a day I would say, all nine of 'em. So, there is still a lot of feed in there and last night was their first night and I threw out the old and put all new in, but tonight, I just left what has been in there. I just don't see the need to throw all that feed away it still has plenty in the feeder. What do you guys do?

I leave it until they eat it all.

Occasionally I throw out the dusty stuff that accumulates in the feeder but mostly I just add more.
