My chicks have grown up using the gravity fountain drink ( they are four days over four weeks) would it be okay to switch them to the nipple waterer? It would be much more convinient.

Yes it will be ok. When you change it over, take out the other waterer. This will help with the change for them. This is what I made for my brooder. It took about 1 minute for them to start using it.

Switched my girls to horizontal nipples at about four weeks with no problems.

What do you mean horizontal nipples?

Horizontal watering nipples mount on the side of a food grade plastic bucket. Almost zero water waste and do not leak

Okay. Do think they work better than the other kind?

I believe they do. The other kind( vertical) must be mounted on the bottom of a bucket making it harder to set the bucket on the ground when cleaning and filling

I have the one with the cups on the side. My chickens can't seem to get the hang of pecking the little yellow thing to get the water. Any advice.
