Chantecler Thread!

Aside from the comb, what differences in appearance are there between Partridge Chanteclers and Welsumers? Different color legs? Skin color? Body types?

Actually, they are supposed to be decent layers - depending on the individual. I'm getting a red here soon

I got this roo a few months ago, he was living in a downtown area with 3 other roos that all had to be gone ASAP. He is the only survivor now.
I want to breed him for an early spring hatch. Then he is promised to Cassie, a fellow BYC member.

Barry, your rooster has good leg colouring and although it's difficult to see it clearly, his comb and wattles look good as well. Ideally he should have black feathering on his chest, sides, and undercarriage though.

Here are some updated pictures of my three Partridge Chanteclers at nearly 12 weeks.

First two views of what I think is a pullet:

Next, what I think is a cockerel:

He's always had skinny feathers, now it is sort of making sense.

And last, a mystery:

This doesn't look like a Partridge Chantecler though it is supposed to be.

Confirmation of my two sex guesses would be nice; ideas about what the third is would be great.
