It's natural for a rooster to be aggressive to a predator.

Is he aggressive towards humans or other chickens?

What kind of dog is Millie?
Best bet might be to keep dog and chickens separate.

Yes that's my guess is that instinct tells him that your dog is a predator so he's trying to defend himself and any of the flock which is their job. But now what to do about it. That's a tough one

It sounds like separation will be best! I could wish that my dogs were intimidated by any rooster, because our current dogs are chicken killers. Your situation sounds wonderful instead!

Charlie is 1 year old, I had a photo of him. Millie is 2 year old.
