9, out of 10 chicks for my dad's friends so far, got one straggler. Ducklings are due to hatch today though.

One duckling died while trying to internally pip. I believe it was a weak one. I got 2 more that should hatch today.

Had a scary experience this morning. I had my brother come and cull one of my birds for me (don't really have the guts to do it myself), and while he was out there, a small pack of coyotes tried to attack my dog. Luckily, he was able to scare them off with Lola being unharmed, but they were on the whole unafraid of him and uncomfortably close to the house. We got lucky today, but it could be a different story tomorrow. I spent a good portion of the day and probably will again tomorrow checking and reinforcing the run fence.
