Chat about the special chicken in your life!

This is my other special chicken Ginger, she is feisty and full of attitude but she loves people! and especially treats!!!!! she also loves to fly over her fenced in area and hang out on the front porch.

I continue to be amazed at how these "formerly known as barnyard critters" have
stolen the hearts of so many. Including myself. I love reading your stories.
Josie and Corey almost had me in tears. (kind of like the movie the notebook-
just kidding)

Aren't we all lucky to have invited these little ones into our lives? Or is it the
other way around?...:>

Here is another special chicken of mine:

Her name is Maybelle. She is very gentle and placid and loves attention. She has an unfortunate tendency to catch colds and other contagious viruses and I have nursed her back to health more than once! Her and Charity are good friends.

Wow! This thread was made for me! Pepper, my gray Wyandotte cross, is the only "survivore" of the four chicks we raised from a week old. One chick was a rooster, the other fell sick and died young, the other died frm impacted crop but Pepper has lived through snakes sleeping under her, cyclones, bitten by a goanna (a large Australian lizard), she's got a broken wing, pengilum crop and the mad eye's of a bird that's seen too much but she is also the most adorable hen you could find! She's approximately 3 years old and still looks young! I cannot begin to imagine what she'll come up with next!

Is Maybelle an Isa Brown? I had one once but the attitude was completely different! Her name was Jen (she died recently from impacted crop) and was the leader of my 3 squadron flock. She's beaten up cats and rats and fought with Kookaburra's for food! She didn't mind humans but would never come for cuddles and if you dared to smile infront ofher she would literally fly up to your face and peck your teeth!

No Maybelle is not an Isa Brown although she may look like one. She is a Highland Brown like Charity. Thankfully I have not had any trouble with goannas even though I live in Australia up north.

this is my boy Rocky no other chicken is more special that is living in my life that is a chicken than him!
