We got the rest of the wire over the hen's run. Now I still have to weave the wire together so that nothing can get in to get them! Rooster Run is next! But in the mean time they act like they are loving it they are running and flying and going crazy!

Thank you Alaskan! We like it. I would like to add some plants but they will have to wait. We still have one more run and 4 turkey pens to put up.... This is the first one for the hens and it is 15'x50'. We are doing one for the 3-4 rooster we will be keeping that will be 7'x50'

I dropped a brick on my chick when she was younger, really squished her bad
. We think she still has a broken wing and after she could walk well and had bottom problems.
But she is fit and fighting now! Still the smallest from her brothers and sister but still happy.

I know my hen run looks alot like your duck pen. But honestly we had started this run abt. the 18 or 19 of this month. We just ran out of wire to finish the other half of the top.
And my DH has not been wanting to get out there and finish it. lol So it has been put off. No telling how long it will take to get the rest done. lol
We have buzzards and hawks so we had to use wire. I really like your idea of adding plants around it to make it prettier! I may add a few this fall myself.

Hey It took me a few days to get it all together, but it is good, right? Before the door went in, I had cut the wire where the door was going to go, Not across the bottom.....just down the side, and was holding it closed with a couple carabiners and hay bale string- 2 days like that, and I have the scars to prove I went in there regularly
AND.....I am sure you have noticed the bathtub sitting there, behind the WHAT (door, yeah, it is a door)? THAT is Mr and Mrs Duck's new pond. Reason is that it is plumbable, easily. That is the chore for the old guy today.....he is off getting pipe and a cleanout...........YES, there is a place to drain it to!!!!!!! The old guy is a plumber, BTW......OH< OH, not building a duck house either- I did go ahead and use one of the black nursery pots- it is in the back corner in the top pic!! They love it, doesn't matter if it gets wet, and easy.....just EASY!! Don't forget, I still have 2-3 coops I must build.....The ducks had to be first, the tent in the house was just too much!!!!
Tony, my friend, I am disappointed......you did not comment on the idea of a thatched roof-
Funny NOTE: this is my redneck bathtub that I used on the back porch of the other place, don't know how many of you remember that conversation.......there was no tub over there, just the shower. I have a huge tub here, in my bathroom, but no shower, sooooooo I guess my nights of taking baths under the stars are OVER!!!!!
May sound crazy, but it is a lot of fun, and very peaceful!!! Remember now.......I live in the country, I am not an exhibitionist!!
