Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

Google thinks you have cancer if you ask them about a stubbed toe. I do not trust that fear-mongerer. 🤣

Exactly! That's why I was skeptical and made it clear that it was google that said this! Google's scrapers are just looking for word matches on web pages and not necessarily correct or even relevant information. It's an okay place to start, but you should always look for more reliable sources before believing what it pulls up.

I heartily second this!

I wanted to read about foods to lower cholesterol. Gobs of pages, a lot had the same "top 5 (or 3, or 8 or whatever) foods to lower your cholesterol!" Full of ads, too, of course. Oatmeal was in the top few on every one, so I looked for more information about oatmeal.
I found this very interesting article:

Processing of oat: the impact on oat's cholesterol lowering effect

I just read a book on statistics, but not the number part of the topic. More about how to look at various studies and see if they are

Lies, damn lies, and statistics,

or maybe actually showing something.

The Data Detective, by Tim Harford.

Anyway, the author gave a place to look for/at studies, and read more about (many) topics.

I was thinking stupid stuff last night but I’m better today. Sort of. The stupid stuff was
wondering if anyone would care if I was gone when I KNOW people would. LOTS of people.
but it was also
somewhat wishing I could have a gun even though I know that would be a very very bad idea
so the latter I’m still thinking about a little bit.

Please, @TheDawg,

do not get a gun. You can make irrevocable decisions in split second in the heat of the moment. You can do things that will never, ever be undone.

There are MANY, MANY people who would miss you if you were gone from this forum or this world. I am one of them. Please take care of yourself and don't hurt me and others by leaving.
