Oh, my sympathies. The last time I had a tooth filled, the effect of the novocaine injection lasted a few days. Not the novocaine, the location of the shot. Back of the jaw. Couldn't open my mouth wide enough to eat a sandwich.

I still have to call and get a quote for getting my wisdom teeth out. Really was hoping to just not do it unless I needed to, but my dentist explained why it would be better for everyone to do it now versus in a few years when they might start causing issues.

Of course then dad and grandma decided to regale the horrifying events theirs were later that day, so that was nice.....

I need to see if I can get a job at the greenhouse before I call though. The greenhouse job would end the last day of June, so I'd have about 2 months of no work, which would be ideal for scheduling the surgery for then so I have plenty of time to be in pain and miserable without thinking about going back to work.

My dentist said that they'd have me knocked out, which is honestly about 99% of why I'm willing to do it now. I had to be awake (but pretty numb) for my surgery I had as a kid for my tooth and that still likes to intrude on my thoughts almost 15 years later
