Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

Facebook is nice for niche communities, everything from religious to extremely rare chicken breeds almost always have a group. Though sometimes they can become very toxic and depressive *eyes her disability groups*.

My neighbor likes her FB cooking/food preserving/homesteading groups.

I really like my neighbors. That particular woman is Seventh Day Adventist. Her daughter and family are right next door. They have never, ever tried to push their beliefs on us. We all get along, we do us, they do them.

But if I needed help at 2 am, I could call on any of them, and they'd come help. I would do the same for them.

Neighbors are part of what you get when you buy a home somewhere. You just never know if you'll get good ones or bad ones.

We barely know our neighbors but in this region of the US anything against the norm isn't trusted or flat out disliked. Finally met the only black family in this area community after 6 years, they helped establish the church across the street but we keep a eye on it for them because folks be shadey :hmm

The only reason why I keep my FB account is for the poultry groups; for some reason, despite the strict no animal sales rules there, there are a ton of rare poultry sales groups there. But I don't check in often unless I'm trying to find hatching eggs or something. It definitely can get toxic over there quick. :hmm

Other than a few discord friend groups (and one discord group for a fan site I play), BYC is the only social media I actively participate in.

Our only nearby neighbors are mostly harmless, but can't seem to fathom that not everyone in the area is Christian, so that's fun. 😅

Discord is my main social zone. However for local livestock news FB is where it's at, it how we learn a county over gonna have a ARBA rabbit show so gonna pop over for support and make contacts.

I'm religious but not Christian. Only woman in the whole town for a fact that wraps for religious reasons so that's fun. Got some stories from my experiences in the college town too
