Chat room for non religious poultry keepers! :D

Well I can't speak for everyone else but I don't believe in your so called all powerful "Sky wizard" I believe in the old ways. I follow pagan customs but that's very fluid for me as a practicing witch/herbalist. And looking back though out the centuries the destruction done in the name of the church is enough to put just about anyone off from the cultism of it all, Or live with my mother in law for a week 🙄

Potential list of questions that should be banned in this thread:

Why aren't you religious/ christian?
Why are you athiest / non-religious?

(I wouldn't know how to suggest this to the thread owner, I'm still new. Feel free to add suggestions)
I find that whenever I am asked such stupidity, that the most finalizing answer you can ever give is: Why not explain first to me why I should go out of my way to explain myself to you? If you matter to me, then you already know the answer. Because you do not know the answer, then you do not matter to me. People hate the answer, they get offended, but you get left alone. 😏

I think that is a diplomatic response, honestly!

It's no different in my opinion to 'when did you realize you wanted to be a teacher' or 'why did you decide to be a writer or artist?'
I feel exactly this way. When I ask someone about their beliefs, and how they came to them, I am truly curious as to what they believe, and how they got there. I'm not going to tell them they are wrong, or try to change their mind.

I've mentioned before that I asked my 96 year old uncle (who had been in the Air Force in WWII and Korea) if he believed in God. He answered, "Of course not!" in the same tone I'd expect to hear if I'd asked him if he believed in Santa Claus.

I really, really, wish I'd gotten to talk to him more about this before he died. As an old man who had seen a lot of life and the world, I would have valued his opinion on this matter.

Forgive me if it's an overstep, but that history amd response makes me think he saw something that reinforced it for him

I think that could very well be it. I read his memoir of his time in Korea, and there were several things that he saw that... would make you question a lot of things.
