It's just weird when someone posts something and you wonder "hmmmm, is that really them, it doesn't sound like something they would say" I didn't realize members could change their name, now it all makes sense.

I have been in the chat when there were shenanigans going on and I didn't appreciate it at all.

The husband just fixed my computer so that I could get into chat....

I HAVE changed my name when going in there. I change to my first name so that people don't have to keep typing homecatmom everytime they are typing to me. Oh well, let's see how the "new chat" is....

What I appreciated on the name change thing is, if I was going out of the room, at my home, then I could change my name from Arklady to Arklady (afk) afk=away from keyboard. Or brb or anything I needed up to a point because then it showed up in the people list that I was away from keyboard. I still think that having that as one of the functions not to mention an IGNORE button would help.

I know some features to chat aren't going to be good for here such as multiple rooms and all. But there are lots of nice chat rooms out there. Now I know one of the things I miss is being able to correct my spelling... But I just try to catch that before I post. I love the large letters and the colors its a nice feature and it breaks up the field of black letters.

I am sure Rob will figure out something.

Wow...this must have happened after I left, somewhat reluctantly, I might add. I really enjoy the chat room, even if I don't stay very long. I hope whatever improvements are made will lock out he offending party(ies) for good. I agree with Chell...thanks for messing it up for those of us who really enjoy it.

Just like rooster red, the name changing kind of got on my nerves as well.
Several people, including me, people would change there names. But if somebody else came in, they might not know who it is. And then if we change our names back again, the people who just came in, would think we are a scammer or something.
And I also like the idea that you have to be a member to chat.
Someone could come in, and change there name to nifty, silkiechicken, or anybody else.
I once saw someone in the forum as anonymous.
And that was pretty scary.
That's my take on the whole thing.
But whatever happens, I would like to thank all of the great staff here at BYC!!!
