Chat Thread for the New Crazy 24 hour Auction

Sorry about your bad experience. The crooks and unrealistic people on eBay make it tough for everyone else.
I've had few good outcomes with eggs from eBay.
I realize that I'm taking a big chance having eggs shipped, but I do expect better packing than having each egg wrapped in 2 squares of TP and placed in an egg carton, then put in a little box, surrounded by shredded newspaper. If I wanted scrambled eggs, I just go to the kitchen! I've even requested SS packing, with the pics included in the description, but only sellers here will do it. (BYCrs are the best!)
I've had a nice turnout with Silkies, which was amazing. Once I got 18 "White Leghorn" eggs that were all clear. Obviously from the grocery store. And twice I've paid for eggs that were never shipped. It took 10 weeks to get my money back each time.
I thought about selling on EBay, but I don't want to risk my reputation. I seriously don't that I will buy eggs from there again, unless it's from someone I've already had a good experience with.
@1kluckychik what kind of eggs were you selling on eBay? Was the winning bid as much as you'd hoped for. I've often wondered about those things.
I sold silkie eggs. The bidding went well most of the time. I was very pleasantly shocked many times. I had 6 silver partridge eggs go for $140.00 once and several times they went for much more than I would expect. Then there are times that the starting bid was all i got. I didn't get many bad feedback and right now they are over a year old so no longer on my score. There was alot of reading to my ads. I described in detail everything that would interest somebody and protect me against claims. I added they where NPIP and AI tested and clean. Offered paperwork if they wanted it. Good pictures. The packing job is also important. I wrapped mine in bubble wrap and taped them closed. Placed air cell up in an egg flat cut to fit the amount of eggs and size of box. I put another on top and taped them together to make a bundle and placed that in the middle of the box with shredded paper under around and over the bundle so it sat snug in the box to prevent jostling. I offered double boxing for an extra fee.

It's gonna happen that the po breaks an egg or two or even just cracks one. I always added extra to make up for that if I could. I rarely packed eggs on top of each other.

I really miss the selling and packing of eggs. I just have 1 pair of silkies now. I'm not able to take care of them like they need so I sold all of mine except for the 1 pair. i've hatched out some this spring to add a couple girls but I mostly have LF now. They aren't high maintenance plus I always lost silkies in winter no matter what we did to keep them warm.

Any more Price is right games? I missed it!!!

Hi guys, seen this thread few times before but still trying to figure how it works.(Some stuff i want to view is locked, guess im too new?)
Gotta say im way impressed with the one liners&quotes dont think I could ever just commit to one, so hats off to those of you who can. Even more so then pictures would love to hear the stories behind some of those! I'm born&raised usa citizen have traveled abroad, done a little reef diving,(swam with sharks-YES REALLY minus the cage&a pretty extreme sporting sort). Its been said im a huge people person but moving towards critters as most people just severly disappoint when given an oppurtunity. I like kids,(3 of my own)because what you see is what you get&honesty is a must with interacting on my level.
Nice to meet all of you&just call me pipA.

I was selling Isbar x Isabelle leghorn. Shipping was $15. The winning bid was $2 lol. I will never again sell eggs there

Aw, we do love our Silkies! I'm sorry you weren't able to keep them all. We're very fortunate that we get maybe a dozen nights with temps at 32 or less here.
I think ours should be okay.
