Personally I'm going to get the wafer one. If the digital ever breaks, (and I bet it will after a few years because computer stuff wears out too quick), it will cost a fortune to fix.

Since you'd have digital with the Genesis', I'd actually go with the wafer Dickey... but that is just my opinion...
I have both and both have their pros & cons... digital isn't too bad to replace on a cabinet, but you can get 2 or 3 extra wafers to have on hand as back up at same cost as 1 digital thermostat...
Nah, not a fortune... just a replacement thermostat... only a little pricier than the wafers, but yeah, you can get a couple wafers for the price of 1 digital thermostat...
Just my observations and opinion...
I need to replace my thermostat in my digital, but that thermostat is over 10 years old now... and spent a long time stored in a barn...
I was actually thinking of using the 1588's as hatchers. I have heard good things about them.

They work great for either/or... Incubation is more critical for stable temps, so if you use separate incubator and hatchers, and can't budget a 2nd cabinet, then I'd go for cabinet as incubator...
