Socks don't have friends. If they did then there'd be matching pairs, but no, they kick each other into harms way in the washer, only the strongest survive.

I used to use my mom's socks too
My dad used to wear my socks and stretch them out, so I raided my mom's drawer. But on a happy note I now have really big pink llama socks.
