on the mottled cochins.

Sorry aboiut your silkies - fortunetly I've been very lucky with critters, so far. but I did have a to kill a 4ft. snake in one of my nursery pens yesterday. Not keen on killing harmless snakes (to humans) but the darn thing was in the nursery where I currently have some 25+ 4wk old chicks.

Just say your email & responded Nicole.
I really do believe, at least hope (would hate to think a person would do this to your chickens), that it was a critter.

I've got someone coming tomorrow (sunday) for some of the 5 week olds, not sure how many they will take. Also, as I've said in the email, I do have some young'uns that are a little over a week old and a few that are less than a week old.

Just holler back via e-mail or better yet, i'll pm you with my number
Thanks neighbor

I've got a bunch of Bourbon red Turkey Poults if any one is interested. They are excellent quality birds, I've been breeding them for 10 yrs. or more. I have 28 adults and they are laying like crazy, so... I am over ran with babies! $5. each.

Hatching update...
I am going to set a bunch of guinea eggs this weekend.
I don't have any idea how many will hatch since they keep hiding them in different places and I've lost track of some of the ages, but we'll see...

In the meantime, my Rhodebar hatch produced 7 cockerels and only 1 pullet. I've named her Hope...

And I candled 2 of my Swedish Flower eggs yesterday and both were fertile - yeah!!!

Ran into the lady (at tractor supply) who will be running the 1st animal swap day at the tractor supply in Collegedale, forgot which day in june or july-sorry. Just thought you might want to know. I made a suggestion to have either 2 vets, so you can actually ask questions-- or for 1 vet to bring a tech to do the rabies shots-so that vet can take questions. I did give her this thread to post to.
