What would be cheaper buying meal worms or raising them?

Raising them but more time consuming. Sometimes time is money.
You can buy them online pretty cheap if you buy in large quantities, like 10,000.

If you want to raise them, starting like that, you can feed 80% of them while you use the rest to start your mealworm farm. Then you won't have to wait for yours to reproduce.
