If you can do it yourself, I'd say build from scratch (pun intended). I am in the process of building an 8x24 coop, and so far have spent in the range of $1200 (Canadian) and still don't have all I need. It will be (I hope) the last one I do but will be worth it to have exactly what I want. If I was paying for labour though, no way I could afford it. Some of the pre built ones seem pretty flimsy, but it depends on where you are, and how much shipping you will pay. I am in Nova Scotia so anything has to be shipped a fair distance. Definitely wood tho.
