Just set up the incubator cam and went into lockdown.

This hatch is in a LG with a computer fan.

Here is what is left afer the candle.
5 Naked Neck frizzy Bantams ***********5 hatched
6 Olive Eggers ***********2 hatched (these were too dark to candle 2 quit early)
3 Mottled Java ***********2 hatched
23 barnyard mix ***********21 hatched (1 was my fault it didn't make it shrink wrapped)

Wow! This is great. I just went into lock down also. I will have my students watch your cam. They are very excited to see eggs hatch. They are middle kids but are so excited.

Thanks for sharing!

My yearbook is done so I get to have kids with good grades work on making an incubator and watching eggs hatch. Having some issues with setting up a thermostate so I bought an incubator. They have done so much research. We made our own candlier. Since I teach math primarily, we are keeping track of temperature, humidity each day. They are looking at the ratio of eggs to those that hatch. But mostly, my students are keeping up in all their other classes so they can participate. Great learning activity for an elective.

Thanks!

I checked out your link just in time to see someone open the incubator???? Do you open your incubator when you're "locked down"? I'm so confused. Everything I've read said that you should never open your incubator....

Dang busted!!

No pips so I figured I could adjust the camera and add a few paper towels for exrtra humidty. You are right you should never open during lockdown.

It's like what I tell my kids do as I say not as I do.

Huh. I'm familiar with that phrase!

I have never done "lockdown". I figure if I need to get in there I'm going to and I've never seen a broody strap herself down onto her next for the last 3 days. They get up, move around, poop, drink, etc. I think we get carried away when we incubate.
