I have to agree with aart since it looks like you have the roost directly above the nest boxes, you need to make sure they don't foul those nest boxes. A nice landing bar just below the boxes and out a bit (8" as mentioned by others is good) for the hens to land on before going into the box. Other than those things, I like the setup and the idea of using milk crates for next boxes.

Love it , as you’ve read already you need a landing roost in front of the nesting boxes , they won’t be happy jumping up and landing on that plastic edge , you’re going to have eggs on the floor .

Love the set up , it’s what I have .A row of nesting boxes , with a 2x4 edge on top and a poop board full of sand , it works beautifully and only uses one wall. My pullets sit backwards up there because they have to see out the windows and poop on the ground , good thing they’re so cute cause the “ poop” board is mostly empty
