I have an Ameraucana that lays a big egg like this every now and again and everytime I get one I'm like "Oh my God!" Mine are usually double yoked too!

Awesome egg, awesome hen! I have an EE that lays the biggest eggs in the flock - sometimes they don't fit well into an egg carton because they're so wide. Yet my EE is smaller than by two BO hens, whose eggs are smaller. I wonder if hens feel egg envy?

I cracked open two of them tonight and they both had double yolks!

wow keep track of how many she lays that is so cool to have 3 in a row like that, poor thing If she does it a lot you could sell half dozens as double yolkers people would go nuts. I get one every once and a while but never that often from the same bird. If its a regular thing I would breed her too and see if you could get that special gene in her offspring

I cant believe my eyes! I ordered 2 Ameraucana chicks and am so exicited about those big green eggs. Does each ameraucana have her own unique green/blue egg color? Do the blues lay a different color than the whites, or buffs? I cant wait to go get my chicks!! Oh and do the buff orpingtons lay a lighter or darker brown egg than the RI Red or the black Australorp? I am also getting the silver wyandotte and light brown leghorn. All hens of course and i chose the Light Brown leghorn for a rooster. Hope i made the right choice.

Do you know which hens layed which eggs? Do the blues lay blues, the buffs lay cream and so on? Which hen laid that BIG KILLER Green egg??? I couldnt believe my eyes...it makes me want to ask for a couple more ameraucana chicks when i go pick them up. Are the Ameraucanas the same and the EE's??

As far as I know they are the same breed. My eggs don't match my hens--Cleopatra layed my big green egg in the pic and she is mottled black and white----If you click on my page you can see all of them--they are all different colors!!
