checking for pasty butt with many chicks

I have 102 chicks that I just got last week. I have a pretty large brooder, so I put 1 big box and 1 small box in it and picked up each chick and the good ones went into the big box and the pasty butts went into the small one. I then let all the good ones back to run around and I cleaned and put oil on the ones with pasty butt and kept those in the box inside the brooder with a small feeder and waterer so that I can keep an eye on them until I'm sure that they are clear and can join the other chicks.

Out of 102 I had 7 with pasty butt.

I think about two weeks should be max with healthy chicks. I had fewer and fewer each day, until finally everyone looked good. Have you tried apple cider vinegar (ACV) in their water? I tsp per quart is what I use, and it's supposed to help with pasty butt as well as many other things. All my chickens get it daily. Good to hear your peeps are doing well!

They do have ACV in their water. Only found one pasty today!
